They are successful consultants, advisors, and board members in the business world right now, with up-to-the-minute insights and connections in Chicagoland and across the country.

Meet the LFGSM Business Leader Faculty® leading the Crain’s ExecEdge program. The first cohort meets one Thursday a month from February 9 to July 11, 2017.

The upcoming Crain’s ExecEdge program features some of the most accomplished Business Leader Faculty® at LFGSM. They include:

Jeff Anderson, President & CEO, LFGSMJeff Anderson. The fifth president and CEO of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, Jeff Anderson, is leading the first day of the program centered on self-awareness and will interact closely with participants throughout Crain’s ExecEdge.  In addition to his work at LFGSM, Mr. Anderson is co-founder and partner at the Chatham Group, a consulting advisory firm. He has helped hundreds of business leaders break through barriers and propel their businesses forward. He has worked with senior executives in the distribution, consumer product, energy, investment banking, consulting, telecommunication and automotive industries, and is a frequent speaker on executive leadership.


Janine-SergayJanine Sergay. Janine Sergay, president of the Sergay Group, Ltd., a consulting firm, teaches Strategic Thinking at LFGSM. Sergay bring her experience in the private and public sectors to lead the “Agility as a Mindset” session. Prior to founding the Sergay Group, she spent 13 years as managing director of JSA-Limani, a South Africa-based consultancy. She has extensive expertise in hands-on management, leadership, strategy execution, performance and process improvement, P&L, cost control, system integration, and growth.


Max ReedMax Reed. Max Reed was recently VP of Program Sales and  Management at CDW, leading a business unit of more than 100 members supporting more than $4 billion in sales per year in the US and Canada. Creating and executing a strategic vision is central to his professional life as an executive leader and as an instructor at LFGSM, where he teaches Economics for Managers and serves as a facilitator for Corporate Learning Solutions.



Gary ConradGary Conrad. Gary Conrad, the 2015 recipient of LFGSM’s Distinguished Faculty Award, has more than 20 years of experience in executive roles, including Anixter Corp., a leading global supplier of communications and security products. At Anixter, Mr. Conrad managed the organization through one of the largest, most complex and most profitable customer contracts in the company’s history. He is a veteran in engaging others to lead people and change. At LFGSM, Gary teaches Operations Management and serves as a facilitator for Corporate Learning Solutions.


Steve HammondSteve Hammond. As a consultant and educator focused on innovation and strategy, Steve Hammond helps CEOs, senior executives and their teams tap into their organization’s creative potential. He teaches students and corporate clients how to use design thinking, creative problem solving and leadership coaching to develop new products, capabilities and services. Mr. Hammond believes the combination of the real world and academics provides students and clients with the best of theory and practice.

Nicole Johnson-ScalesNicole Johnson-Scales. Nicole Johnson-Scales is a senior banking and financial professional who is Senior Vice President, Head of Community Development for Fifth Third Bank Chicago. She works with local leaders and organizations throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. As a leader in corporate social responsibility, Johnson-Scales will lead the “Civic Engagement” session. She serves as a board member for many high-profile nonprofits, including the United Way, YWCA, and Women Employed and is a frequent speaker on leadership.

In addition to the seasoned LFGSM faculty members leading the Crain’s ExecEdge program, participants will also connect with and learn from C-suite level and civic leader guest speakers.
