(3 semester hours credit)

This course focuses on the practical application of statistical tools to understand and use relevant data, which leads to successful decision-making. Students are introduced to major statistical and decision analysis tools used in business. Students perform quantitative analysis in a variety of areas, including strategy, operations, finance, human resources, marketing, and sales. Separating fact from opinion and identifying the most influential factors and risks in those areas, students formulate judgments that provide a competitive advantage to themselves and their organizations. Interpreting data and making decisions are not exclusively mechanical processes; they also involve intuition, ideas, and values to find real-world meaning from real-world numbers.
