The Lake Forest Leadership MBA (LMBA) provides a broad knowledge base, for coworkers with at least 4 years of experience, in the areas that are critical for success in today’s business environment. Timely business topics are incorporated into a curriculum which includes accounting, business management and policy, communications, economics, finance, marketing, organizational development, and strategy.
At Lake Forest, you will learn how to confidently approach the broad array of issues facing Walgreens leaders today. As managers are called upon to develop new business competencies, broaden existing ones, and participate in cross-functional initiatives, a general management MBA from Lake Forest degree helps ensure that you are equipped to meet your business challenges.

The Immersion MBA (iMBA) from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management brings you the next generation of online education for aspiring leaders with 1-4 years of business experience. The challenges you face now, and in the coming years, at your job are played out in the iMBA's simulated company where you will not only learn, but have the chance to apply the skills you need to succeed in business today. The iMBA empowers you to learn by doing.
The iMBA allows you to become immersed in a virtual-reality clone of a real company with real products, customers, competitors, opportunities and failures. Rotate through as many as 10 of the company's departments, learning the core business functions by actually working in each area. Throughout the different rotations, you will learn business theory and develop the ability to apply it in realistic business situations in the virtual world as well as in your own experience at Walgreens.
During your iMBA, 75% of your time will be spent in the virtual-reality environment and 25% participating in online discussions and group projects with your fellow students and faculty. This allows you to benefit from the interaction with your virtual bosses and co-workers, and then take the learning to the next level through conversations with other students and faculty members.
iMBA students take 12 core courses that are 100% online to earn their degree in as few as 22 months. The iMBA program also includes additional components, such as career assessments and guidance, e-portfolios, and group projects to enhance the application of your education.
Professionals who are non-degree-seekers can choose to benefit from the Leadership MBA curriculum by pursuing a Graduate-level Certificate Program, derived from the core courses in the LMBA program. With LFGSM’s signature “learn it today, use it tomorrow” approach to business education, certificate students will become effective leaders from day one.
Students can earn any one of the following three certificates in a year. Each certificate program includes a self-paced, online Business Fundamentals module and a series of four core courses.
This series of four courses selected from the LFGSM Leadership MBA degree program will help students develop the skills needed to become more effective leaders. Students will gain the tools and know-how to guide and facilitate constructive strategic change.
This series of four courses selected from the LFGSM Leadership MBA degree program will help students structure an approach to gathering, understanding, and interpreting data in various functional business areas, such as accounting and finance. Students will also learn key economic concepts that are critical to managerial decision-making within today’s business environment.
This series of four courses selected from the LFGSM Leadership MBA degree program will help students develop and implement strategy that is a source of sustainable competitive advantage and initiate strategically aligned innovation. Students will gain tools to construct an effective marketing strategy based on competitive advantage and understand and implement the decisions necessary to optimize operational business processes.
Qualified certificate students who complete the full admissions process can go on to earn an MBA degree by completing the above three certificates, the capstone course and three electives.
Certain courses build on previous work. The recommended sequence of courses, the default schedule, is designed to help students maximize their learning in each course. Those courses are identified by a statement at the end of the course description (recommended prerequisites). Students are able to change their schedule to fit their personal needs, but they should be aware that they may need to do some additional work to take full advantage of the course content.
