As the New Year approaches, you have personal resolutions, but have you stopped to formulate resolutions for your professional development?  At Lake Forest Graduate School of Management we enjoy a long running tradition of providing tools, training and resources to cultivate leadership skills that create measurable impact in business.

We make it a priority to offer convenient start times throughout the year, allowing our students to start on their own timeline and graduate quickly.  Many students find the New Year to be an optimal time to begin their graduate degree because it’s the time when most corporations begin a new tuition reimbursement budget. In some cases, companies offer to pay up to ninety percent of all costs for obtaining a master’s degree related to the employee’s field.

Not all companies offer these types of benefits, which is why we work hard to provide resources, both financially and professionally, to help students successfully complete our LMBA or iMBA programs. Our financial aid counselors work one-on-one with students to explain the educational loans available to graduate students and how to obtain them. Also, Lake Forest Graduate School is one of the few part-time MBA programs that offers scholarships to our students. We are dedicated to helping present and future students find a way to make graduate studies affordable.

On the professional development side, our career services department works to empower students and alumni to advance their careers and achieve professional success. This department provides:

  • No-cost online career management and job-search resources (powered by CareerBeam)
  • Private job board for job seekers and hiring managers to source LFGSM talent (powered by CareerBeam)
  • Workshops, webinars and networking events designed to sharpen your career management skills
  • Personalized coaching for CareerBeam users and event attendees who require additional, one-on-one support

We also offer a tutoring program where experts are available to help students for no extra charge in areas like, accounting, business, analytics, economics, writing or Microsoft Office. With the accelerated rate of change happening in organizations, it is important to be up to speed on these topics and pursue them with confidence. That is what this our tutors hopes to provide.

It is our belief that with consistent support from LFGSM’s network of professionals such as students, alumni, faculty and staff, the next step for your career path is within reach. We use the term “career management” but it’s much more than that. By utilizing the outlined resources, you will be able to head into the New Year set out to achieve the next level of professional development through our MBA programs.
