Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM) is proud to partner with Human Resources Management Associates of Chicago (HRMAC) to offer professional development opportunities throughout the year. The HRMAC Business Essentials series includes half-day, skill-building courses led by Lake Forest’s experienced Business Leader Faculty™ to help HR leaders become better business partners.

The HRMAC Business Essentials courses are approved for business credits toward the PHR/SPHR/GPHR recertification by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI). Professional development credits (PDC) from courses can also be applied toward the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP certifications. The number of credits varying according to course selection.

Financial Fundamentals for HR Professionals I

Human resources-related costs represent one of the largest expenses in any business, yet many HR professionals do not understand how their operations affect the organization’s bottom line. In this session, led by Business Leader Faculty™ Maureen Carson Kiernan, CPA, MBA, gain a deeper understanding of the most critical business financial information and how they related to the HR function.

Expand on Maureen’s first session with the tools HR professionals need to influence decision-makers to initiate programs that require investment or eliminate programs to save expenses. About the Human Resource Management Association of Chicago

Since 1915, HRMAC was founded to address the needs of business members and employers.  The Employer’s Advisory Group began with a large 2,000 attendee meeting in Chicago in 1921 and evolved to become the Industrial Relations Association of Chicago.

In 1982 the organization and membership became the ‘Human Resource Management Association of Chicago’ (HMAC) which is the largest and oldest organization in its sector in the United States.  The membership includes more than 7,000 HR professionals and 750 organizations.
