Jack Welch Visits LFGSM
On Friday October 7th, Jack Welch – former CEO of GE and New York Times # 1 bestselling author – electrified a packed house of 300 students, alumni, faculty, board members, LFCE clients, and special guests at LFGSM’s Lake Forest campus & headquarters. Welch was in town to promote his new book, Winning, with all proceeds benefiting charity.
The greatly anticipated event consisted of a one hour Q & A with Welch followed by an hour of book signing. The Q & A was masterfully moderated by LFGSM spokesman Len Walter, WBBM NewsRadio 780AM's Business/Financial Editor.
When asked how LFGSM was able to book Jack Welch, Curt Wang, LFGSM VP of Marketing & Communications, replied, “Jack Welch found us. His representatives called us a few short weeks before the event to say that he would be in Chicago on October 7th to visit a few select business schools, and that in particular he wanted to speak at LFGSM."
Added Wang, “Because we could not accommodate as many of our constituents as we would have liked, we had a professional film crew videotape the event. We’ve created DVDs for on-site viewing at our Chicago, Schaumburg, and Lake Forest campuses.
