Mr. Multhauf joined the staff of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in January 2011 and assumed his current position. He is responsible for the leadership, management, strategic planning and administration of all degree and non-degree programs and services, and collaborates with other LFGSM business units in the design, development, delivery, and multi-purposing of new programs and the revision/ enhancement of existing offerings in order to distinguish LFGSM programs in the market place as educational solutions that get results.

From 2007 through 2011, Mr. Multhauf served as the Executive Dean, College of Management and Business, National-Louis University. The College provides undergraduate and graduate degree programs to approximately 1,100 students in Chicago, Washington DC, Poland, and through their online programs. The College’s educational offerings are specifically directed toward non-traditional, experienced, working students seeking to improve their lives through higher education. During his tenure, he worked with faculty to develop and implement a number of initiatives such as comprehensive revisions of the College’s leading graduate and undergraduate programs; establishing an Advisory Board comprised of local business leaders; expanding College collaboration with leading Latino, community-based organizations; and evaluating and restructuring the College’s programs in Washington DC and Nowy Sacz, Poland.

Prior positions include 14 years as Co-founder, Chairman of the Board, and CEO of First Commonwealth, Inc., a leading managed care organization serving the Midwest. Under his guidance, First Commonwealth evolved from a private equity funded start-up to being publicly traded on NASDAQ and ultimately through its acquisition in 1999 the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. Mr. Multhauf also was President and CEO of the Alliance for Illinois Manufacturing, a non-profit collaboration of tax-payer supported and non-profit organizations that coordinates, focuses and leverages their collective resources into integrated solutions to transform Chicago area manufacturers into globally competitive companies.

From 1995 until 2001, Mr. Multhauf served on the Board of Trustees of the Chicago Architecture Foundation, where he is still a volunteer docent. He is a member of the Economic Club of Chicago, and Executives’ Club of Chicago.
 
Mr. Multhauf has been recognized in Crain’s Chicago Business’ Who’s Who In Chicago, University of Illinois at Chicago’s Chicago Area Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame, and as a Finalist Illinois/Northwest Indiana Entrepreneur of The Year Award sponsored by Inc. Magazine, Ernst & Young LLP.
