Ronald D. McNeil, Class of 2010

In March of 2007, Mr. McNeil retired from Allstate after 31 years of distinguished service. In January of 2008, he launched his consulting services company, The MCNEIL Group, LLC. MCNEIL consulting provides strategy and leadership development and effectiveness.
At Allstate Mr. McNeil was a member of Allstate’s Senior Management Team, with fiscal and leadership responsibilities totaling $30 billion and 70,000 employees, the industry’s first Black person to attain such a status. He had served on Allstate’s Board of Directors since 1994. Major accomplishments at Allstate include:
- The Neighborhood Partnership Program, an initiative that redefined and improved Allstate’s relationship with urban communities
- Development of the Economic Declaration Model, which fundamentally changed the way the company priced, underwrote and delivered products to the marketplace
- Creation of Allstate’s first integrated distribution organization, through which he reorganized all aspects of the agency value proposition by channel
- Recruitment and/or development of many of the members of the senior leadership group at Allstate
Mr. McNeil is well known and highly respected throughout the insurance industry and is considered by many to be an industry trailblazer. During his tenure at Allstate he was elected to four Senior Management Team positions, was Chairman of two Allstate subsidiaries, and was President of three local Allstate companies.
Mr. McNeil has been involved in a range of not-for-profit activities and serves as a Midwest Trustee and National Governor for Boys and Girls Clubs of America. In 2002, Mr. McNeil and his wife, Regina, founded The Ronald D. and Regina C. McNeil Foundation, Inc., a private, not-for profit foundation with a focus on providing educational scholarships.
He was elected to the Board of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2001.
