Ms. Bailar has spent her entire career in the health care industry. As an executive she has worked with both providers and payers, affording her a unique view of this dynamic industry. From 1998 until her retirement in 2003, she held the position of Vice President, Chief Operating Officer of Advocate Health Centers, a large, urban, multi-specialty physician group practice with multiple sites in the Chicago area. Since leaving this position in 2003, she has stayed active in the business world, working with non-profit organizations and continuing to teach as a member of the faculty at Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, where she has taught since 1996.

Ms. Bailar’s past experiences include co-founding two healthcare consulting companies: Syer and Nottingham, a healthcare consulting firm and insurance agency; and SNI Management Associates. SNI developed and managed Independent Physicians Associations, Physician Hospital Organizations, and Physician Organizations, and provided the services required for providers to be competitive and financially strong in a demanding managed care market. In 1995, after leaving the two companies she founded, Mrs. Bailar worked as an independent consultant, with her primary client being the University of Illinois, College of Nursing, in Chicago. She previously held executive positions with several large health care corporations, teaching centers, and hospitals.

Ms. Bailar serves on the Education Committee of Ada S. McKinley Community Services and on the Board of Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church. She also serves on the Dean’s Advisory Cabinet, University of Illinois, College of Nursing. She served on the Board of Hospital Laundry Services Corporation from 2001-2003 and on the City of Chicago Special Olympics Committee from 1999-2001. She was elected to the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2006, and was named Chairman of the Board in 2009.
