Heather A. Lowe, Class of 2010
Vice President and Executive Director, The Clara Abbott Foundation
Ms. Lowe is Vice President and Executive Director at the Clara Abbott Foundation. She manages a $270 MM endowment and is responsible for program operations, marketing and communications, sales, finance/treasury, and information technology in a role that reports directly to an independent board of directors. Her accomplishments include: developing a new strategic and long-range plan focused on increasing international utilization and outreach; execution of plan that in year one increased applications by 17 percent and reached over 18,000 Abbott employees worldwide; and improved efficiencies and customer service while reducing overhead by over 40 percent.
Since beginning her career at Abbott in 1991 in the Manufacturing Professional Development Program, Ms. Lowe has held positions of increasing responsibility in management and distribution. Most recently serving as Divisional Vice President, Supply Chain of Abbott’s Diagnostics Division. She held that position for two years before taking over her current role.
Ms. Lowe serves on the board of YWCA of Lake County. She was elected to the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2007.
