Antoinette L. Gawin
Vice President - Strategy , Baxter Healthcare Corporation
As Vice President, Strategy, Ms. Gawin is chartered with translating the company’s strategic imperatives into operating parameters. She joined Baxter as VP, Business Operations for Medication Delivery, supporting all commercial transactions including contract administration, pricing, and wholesaler and distributor management.
Ms. Gawin joined Baxter Healthcare following a 20+ year career with GE, where she held progressively responsible commercial, GM and operational leadership roles. Her most recent role prior to joining Baxter was Chief Marketing Officer for GE Healthcare Financial Services, overseeing strategic planning, new market launches, PR and communications. This built from her experience leading Global Strategic Marketing, which included the acquisition of Amersham and assessing long-range healthcare technology and market investments. She also developed GE Healthcare’s Customer Advocacy function and launched a GE-wide customer satisfaction program.
Antoinette began her career in GE’s Financial Management Program, progressing through GE’s Corporate Audit Staff, then Corporate Mergers and Acquisitions. She subsequently led Global Customer Services, Asset Management and Technology Operations for GE Information Services then established commercial strategy and Sales as VP, Manufacturing Industry.
Antoinette joined the GE Harris–Energy Systems JV in Florida as the VP of Operations. Her role expanded with several technology acquisitions in the U.K. Gawin then leveraged this experience with the formation of GE Digital Energy, acquiring Switzerland-based IMV, then serving as its CEO.
She sponsors the Fleis Family Educational Fund, a non-profit that provides college scholarships and mentoring to rural high school graduates. She is a board member of American Friends of the Watershed Trust Organization (WOTR), an India-based non-profit dedicated to alleviating rural poverty through village-based water management programs. She was elected to the Board of Directors of Lake Forest Graduate School of Management in 2011.
