Jeffrey J. Anderson was appointed the 5th President and CEO of the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM), effective October 27, 2014.
LFGSM is a 70 year-old, not-for-profit, fully accredited business school that offers part-time MBA and other business degrees, as well as highly customized leadership development programs and solutions. It is the only business school in North America with a faculty 100% comprised of business executives.
Prior to joining the Graduate School, Mr. Anderson was an Associate Dean at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. As a member of senior staff, he helped oversee all aspects of the school’s operations. He also taught four classes, including the ground-breaking Leadership Effectiveness and Development (LEAD) program taken by all full-time students during their first quarter in the program. During his tenure, he expanded the program to all MBA programs, and adapted the leadership curriculum to be implemented at the undergraduate college and law school.
Mr. Anderson is also a partner and co-founder of The Chatham Group, an association of experienced business executives who provide strategic advice and individual coaching to senior business leaders worldwide. Mr. Anderson has worked more than 15 years with senior executives in a wide variety of industries including: distribution, consumer products, oil and gas, automotive, financial services, manufacturing, and telecommunications. Jeff’s consulting provides a wealth of stories and case studies that he brings to the world of business education. At Booth, his team built seven leadership simulations to test skills like sales, versatility and leading in crisis. One of the most unique simulation was “a typical day in the life of a General Manager.” The practical and high-impact nature of these programs made them some of the highest rated components of the MBA curriculum.
Before starting The Chatham Group, Mr. Anderson held executive roles in finance, operations, corporate development and international business during his seventeen-year tenure with RR Donnelley & Sons Company, a leading provider of commercial printing, distribution and marketing communication services. While at RRD, Jeff led the conversion of one of the Company’s manufacturing facilities into the most automated operation in the printing industry, established the company’s headquarters on the continent of Europe, built a corporate development team that completed more than 20 mergers and acquisitions, and drove the turnaround of several businesses. Prior to joining RRD, he spent several years with Arthur Young & Company in Chicago, where he led the audits of various manufacturing and service companies.
Mr. Anderson served as a member of the Board of The Lane Construction Corporation, a $1.2 billion heavy civil construction firm serving the transportation, infrastructure and energy industries. He has served as Board Chair of The Danish Home since 2010, leading the turnaround of this 120-year-old not-for-profit senior living facility. He is a frequent speaker on topics related to executive leadership.
