Karen Radelet, Art Director, Omron Healthcare Inc., Lake Forest MBA Class of 1994
Karen Radelet is living proof that the School's "learn now, use now" approach to business education works.
Radelet, now art director for Omron Health Care, Inc., sold imported jewelry through her own store in Northbrook Court during the same four years she put herself through The Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. She believes the School helped her to succeed.
"The School really expanded my horizons and gave me a push into the stratosphere in imagining all I could do with my small business," she said. "One of the most valuable things I did was the international management trip to Cambridge. At the time, I was flying all over the world looking for wonderful, unique products for my store. The international management experience helped me to facilitate good relationships with my vendors."
Radelet has been in her current position with Omron for approximately six months. Because Omron is owned by a major Japanese corporation, she still finds use for her international management skills as well as other skills she's developed through schooling and work experience.
"I'm involved in everything from brainstorming product development to point-of-purchase displays and packaging solutions," she said. "My work here gives me an ideal opportunity to utilize creative skills I gained earning my bachelor of fine arts, business skills I developed at LFGSM and the retail marketing background I have from running my jewelry business."
