Distinguished Alumni Award
In June, Lake Forest Graduate School of Management (LFGSM) honored Nimesh Jhaveri and David Proctor with Distinguished Alumni Awards for 2011. The LFGSM Distinguished Alumni Award was established in 2007 to highlight the talents and successes of the School’s more than 8,000 alumni. The Award is granted annually to two alumni, nominated by fellow alumni, in two categories: Professional Achievement and Service Achievement.
Mr. Jhaveri, who received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Service Achievement, is the Executive Director of Pharmacy Services at Walgreen Company. Jhaveri is a Hotchkiss Scholar and LFGSM Class of 2008 Valedictorian.
Mr. Proctor, who received the Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement, earned his Lake Forest MBA in 2007 and is the Co-Founder, President & CEO of Next Wave Logistics, Inc.
Distinguished Alumni Award for Service Achievement
The Distinguished Alumni Award for Service Achievement is made to an alumnus for demonstrating outstanding service to the School and the business community LFGSM serves. Nimesh Jhaveri is a deserving recipient, having served as an enthusiastic supporter of LFGSM in a variety of volunteer capacities. In honoring Mr. Jhaveri, Kate Colbert, LFGSM’s Director of Marketing & Alumni Relations, said, “Since earning his MBA, Nimesh has served the School through a number of alumni leadership roles. Most notably, he was instrumental in transforming the School’s Hotchkiss Scholar Society into a living, breathing entity that bonds all Hotchkiss Scholars, past and present.” The Hotchkiss Scholars program recognizes Lake Forest MBA students in the top 5% of their graduating class.
Mr. Jhaveri holds a B.S. in Pharmacy from Rutgers University and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement
The Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement is made to an alumnus in recognition of outstanding career achievement and professional contributions that benefit both his or her organization and the community, thus honoring the values upon which LFGSM was founded and still operates. As a result of David Proctor’s creativity and energetic leadership, Next Wave Logistics, Inc. has grown to be a 200-employee global technology company grossing more than $20 million annually; it is considered the leading innovator and provider of web-based software for global direct selling companies. Following Proctor’s vision, the company implemented a complete virtual workforce from day one, enabling the organization to offer its workforce the flexibility of work/life balance and to attract and retain the “best and the brightest” employees worldwide. The company’s software solutions are currently implemented in 12 countries and 14 languages, and serve more than 550,000 individual business owners globally.
Proctor also serves on the Board of Directors of Bear Necessities, a national organization funding medical research and ongoing help and support for children and their families suffering from pediatric cancer. “Not only has David honored LFGSM by achieving continued success as an entrepreneur and business leader,” Colbert noted, “he also reflects the Schools values by sharing his time and talents as a leader in the wider community.” Mr. Proctor graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1991 and holds an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.
“It is our pleasure to honor both Nimesh and David,” said John Popoli, President & CEO of LFGSM. “By distinguishing themselves as true leaders within their organizations and by displaying unwavering commitment to giving back to the School and their communities, they serve as an inspiration to all Lake Forest MBA graduates, current students, faculty and staff.”
