2010 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients announced!
The 2010 Distinguished Alumni Award in Professional Achievement was awarded to Ed Carney, Class of 2001, President and CEO, Superior Graphite Company, for his many achievements. Ed was nominated by fellow alum, Christin Lore Anderson, who mentioned that the milestones that company has reached since 1998 are a direct result of Ed's leadership.
The 2010 Distinguished Alumni Award in Service Achievement was awarded to Linda Gariano, Class of 2004, Staff Nurse, North Shore Ambulatory Surgery, for her service to LFGSM. Linda showed outstanding support of LFGSM’s mission this year by establishing the Joseph A. Kaule Scholarship, a new endowed scholarship for female LFGSM students who hold undergraduate nursng degrees.
The Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented annually in each of two categories:
> Professional Achievement: Awarded to an alum whose professional achievements have distinguished themselves, benefited their communities, and brought credit to LFGSM.
> Service Achievement: Awarded to an alum who has demonstrated outstanding service to LFGSM.
To submit a nomination, go here to complete a nomination form explaining why your nominee should be one of LFGSM's Distinguished Alumni Award recipients for 2011. (Note: Macros must be enabled when opening the form).
Email the completed forms to AlumniRelations@lfgsm.edu by April 29, 2011. Award recipients will be honored in a special pre-graduation ceremony in June. Recipients will be announced on the LFGSM Web site, in the Stay Connected e-newsletter, and in Lake Effects.
Eligibility
- Nominated Alumni must have graduated before July 30, 2010
- Individuals can only win once every five years
- Alumni on the LFGSM staff, faculty, and Board of Directors are ineligible.
