LFGSM students face many challenges to reaching their educational goals, especially in the current recession. Students working for smaller companies or non-profit organizations often receive little or no tuition reimbursement. Those students at larger companies face decreasing or discontinued tuition reimbursement. Others have lost their jobs which creates another level of financial need. In response, LFGSM has quadrupled scholarship funding during the past three years.
With the generous support of golf sponsors, players, and other generous donors, LFGSM raised more than $60,000 in direct student aid which has been used to support 70 students by awarding 114 scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. Even with this increase, our ability to meet rising student financial need is lacking.
We hope you will join us this year for a fun day on the links in support of LFGSM students. We have added a few exciting changes to this year’s event that you won’t want to miss!
